Expensive Echoes

Expensive Echoes

Wisdom unshared is fool’s knowledge. Imagine a condition that cannot be cured medically, cannot be killed physically, and cannot be slowed with time.

The deadliest disease is not air borne; it is mind-borne. Among the people of GOD; Satan’s favorite weapon it’s not drugs, it’s not the temptation of the flesh, it’s not alcohol, money, physical strength or power. It’s the one thing that contaminates husbands and wives, separates father from sons,
and mothers from daughters.

It denigrates and destroys Gods influence generation after generation, it is more lethal than any addiction or virus, and the more you use it, the less it is known, it is this thing that GOD will hold us accountable for every moment without faith we used it. What is it – It’s silence.

Ninety percent of your pain, ninety percent of your embarrassment, ninety percent of your shame, represents ninety percent of your wisdom. But like grains of salt mixed with water, you can’t figure out how to share the wisdom without separating the shame from it, so we stay silent.

You’re not going to reach spiritual maturity painlessly, nor are you going to reach it shamelessly. There’s going to be some pain and shame involved, and the more vulnerable and transparent you become, the more positive and powerful the effect. Normally one moment of wisdom,
is made up of several moments of shame.

Christ died to himself in every moment of His life. The foundation of the great commission starts with the stewardship of time. Christ is the creator and master of time, He sacrificed every moment of His life for us, including the moment of the cross. Never forget, the Lord remembers when
there was nothing to remember.

In my youth I was walking around believing there was power in pride. In the winter of my life the Lord has shown me there is prestige in patience, there is tenacity in tolerance; there is fierceness in forgiveness. You can beat a person into submission, but you can’t beat a person into forgiveness.

Foreword

Foreword

I want you to imagine you turn the corner and stop in your tracks at what you see. There’s a person walking down the street, and they are actually and literally transparent. And as you peer inside of them, you see all the most embarrassing and shameful moments of their life, being played out.

If your life was on the display rack, how expensive would the price tag be that’s hanging down? Would the receipt have the list of people who paid the cost, for the finished product that is you? How many people got used? How many hearts were broken? How many debts went unpaid?

The only way I can possibly say “thank you”, to those people, is to ensure they did not go through all of that suffering, in vain.

These poems, encapsulates many of the lessons and wisdom learned, that I convey using the most powerful medium ever created, the unmeasurable canvas of the human heart.

This book can in no way; compensate, substitute, redeem, or justify, the pain and shame of the past. But, it can warn other people (young and old), and perhaps guide them, to make better decisions, and to seek the Lord Jesus Christ, early in their lives.

Like the conspicuous transparent person on the street; if exposure to controversy, embarrassment, and even shame comes through; based on the cost paid, for the wisdom I acquired, it is the very least I can do.

What a blessing it would have been, for someone to have given me a wisdom book of moments, warning me about the pitfalls of life’s decisions, and how to use GOD’s word and grace, to overcome and navigate through them. May these words bless you practically and spiritually. Enjoy.

Times Holiday

Times Holiday

When I walk in the path of Your righteousness,
and my spirit is full only of Your light.

When dark things past have faded,
as far as east is from west in Your sight.

When I am free from sin and temptation,
You are the only thing focused on my mind.

I step out of the concept of knowledge,
to embrace that which is free from the chains of time.

You speak to me of moments I missed,
because the eyes of my spirit were not focused on you.

My soul is enticed with the treasures of righteousness,
enjoying memories of things I've yet to do.

Time or Eternity has nothing to offer,
that could keep my mind enchanted and new.

Even mental echoes of prayers yet to come,
pause on their journey to give honor to You.

I am a slave who was freed by Your gift,
and will be lifted from death and its sting.

Your blood set the stage for the last battle,
and at the same time dyed the robes of spiritual kings.

If life, is death’s teacher and we are rewarded,
not by how we died, but Whom we lived for day by day.

Then I will follow the path of Jesus the Master,
and in my example show others the way.

And if I am faithful and walk upright seeking to
glorify GOD, He will be merciful and graceful and kind.

Then perhaps once again time will take a holiday,
as His word embraces the open arms of my mind.

Village of Virtue

Village of Virtue

There was once a wicked and greedy man,
guilty of cheating many people in the village.

All of their time, talents, and treasures,
he selfishly squandered, misused, and often pillaged.

Try as he might to flee from justice
He eventually ran out of breath.

Sentenced by the magistrate to one thousand
strokes of the whip, or until the moment of death.

Before carrying out punishment, as it was kingdom’s
custom for anyone involved in such a case.

He was given ten moons, to find someone in the
kingdom, willing to take a stroke in his place.

Beyond the village and through the entire kingdom,
He went to relatives with a teary embrace.

But everyone he sincerely thought cared about him,
were the ones that laughed in his face.

At the night of the tenth moon, with his last moments coming soon,
he panicked at the sight of the sun.

Try as he might, he found no help with his plight,
no person would volunteer, not even one.

As he was dragged to the village square,
and tied to the stakes, his shirt ripped from his back.

With his last thoughts he wished, he could make right the
wrongs he did, and put his life back on track.

As the powerful taskmaster stepped up,
and pulled back his arm, to lay in the scar of the first stroke.

A voice from the crowd, spoke out clear and loud,
“Stop, we will pay the punishment he invoked”.

As the man turned back to see, he could not
believe his eyes, surely, he was losing his mind.

The thousand people he cheated, had each agreed to take
a stroke, a substitute for the friends he could not find.

The man said, “I will not forget this, and you will not regret this,
with my life, I will serve this village each and every day.”

The villagers said, “This was a sacrifice it's true, but we didn't
do it for you, we did it because of He who told us to.”

Don't feel indebted, to serve us this day,
just be grateful your ordeal is through.

He has given you a thousand new days, and the task of a
thousand new souls to win, justify His faith in you.

The same zeal you put in your sin, put even more
when telling about Him, if you truly are a creature made new.

Nobility is not something you gift to a few,
and to others you decide to conserve it.

True nobility is to sacrifice a great deal for the truth to be revealed,
to the one who least deserves it.

Mind Storm

Mind Storm

The eternal forest is silent.
There is stillness in the mental air.

There is a storm of dark moments
brewing on my mind’s horizon.

The stench of sin and evil,
is the trademark of this pair.

As they travel death follows besides them,
stinging when fellowship gets in the way.

They seek to take my righteous bounty the
Master has promised me, on the judgment of His day.

They have passed the sentry of yesterday,
His corpse hangs in the tree near the clearing of carnality.

This is a battle for the moments to come,
and the mansion that awaits me in eternity.

I have been sharpening the sword of truth,
with GOD's stone, of obedience, word, fasting and prayer.

Even silence cries out when I reveal it,
for it cuts through temptation that's yet to be there.

There's almost upon me now,
I can feel the hot breath of sins past on my back.

The accuser leads them into mind’s battle,
the black horse of illusion leading the attack.

A thousand moments seek dominion over a
righteous one, this is how the dark moments add to their pack.

Yet their doom is already sealed,
for the greatest weapon they constantly lack.

The sword I yield, has been forged with the
fire of testing, and sealed with the blood of the Holy king.

Its touch yields life to the bearer,
And has the power of a million moments in its sting.

For what the vanquished ones failed to realize,
as their corpses lay in the barrier between reality and time.

Is that the Word can cast down weapons of darkness,
even moments that once were mine.

As the battle turned, I saw the horse of illusion ride away,
past sins vanquished in His tracks.

One last turn, before retreating to yesterday,
as if to remind me, if carnality allows it, He'll be back.
